Double Trouble
Alright, so first of all, I'll have everyone know that I painstakingly braided all the little cotton strands at
the bottom of the toy to make it safe to hang inside the cage. Having said that:
Ducki loves his double trouble rope swing! Since I welcomed Ducki into my life,
I have tried many different swings in the hopes of providing him with more entertainment while I'm at work and
he's in his cage. He never showed the slightest interest in any of the wood or acrylic swings I bought.
He would always snub them in favor of a solid perch or even the cage bars
When I saw him up there I ran to get my camera so I could show you how readily the new perch was accepted.
I almost gave up on getting swings, but knew that they are more healthy for a bird than solid perches,
since they work the small muscles required for balance. So I kept my eyes open.
When I saw mybirdpix's Double Trouble swing, I was understandably skeptical.
Would my picky conure accept a large rope swing into his humble abode?
Well, the price was certainly more than reasonable, and Ducki had shown past interest in rope perches,
so I went ahead and ordered it.

Java Perch
I picked up Ducki's Java Perch from the post office Saturday. When I got home, I was faced with a familiar dilemma - where should I put it? Well, unlike a lot of other perches I have, the Java Perch has a surprisingly large washer/wingnut fastener. I was actually able to attach it to the ladder on top of his cage, something that I tried, but couldn't do with his other 'tree' type perch. It will be extra stable inside the cage, too, because the large washers will span several bars. Great feature!
I put the perch up and within 15 min Ducki had discovered the new 'highest place' to hang out on.
When I saw him up there I ran to get my camera so I could show you how readily the new perch was accepted.

Boing!
Ducki, my gcc, loves the boing he gets to play on at my parent's house when I visit. I decided that he had to have one. Being on a student's budget, I started shopping around. Sadly, all the local stores that sold them were ridiculously expensive, so I turned to the internet. I stumbled upon MyBirdPix.com, and was I surprised! I got a variety pack that not only had the boing I was looking for, but 3 other toys as well! And the whole package, including shipping, cost the same as getting a boing locally.
I hang it in Ducki's door when the cage is open and he just loves climbing from level to level, swinging, or just bouncing. It warms my heart to see him so happy! I've attached some pictures so you can see how much he loves his new toy!

Fleece Snuggly "feedback"
Max really loves preeners. Moreso than Olive. He is very defensive of them, you DO NOT TOUCH HIS PREENERS!
Olive made the mistake of going into his cage and going over to his preeners and he hauled birdie butt into his cage to get her away!
And then he madly preened them to calm himself down.
I got both him and Olive a fleece preener from Carol and I put Max's next to his cotton & pony bead one.
He finally destroyed the cotton one and I had to remove it, I had picked up a little rope and wood one the other day
and exchanged the destroyed one for that one next to his fleece one. He was not happy I was anywhere near his preeners (he sleeps next to them too) and I had to move quickly.
Go ahead and mess with my preeners again!
